Buckarettes.com
Check out our website-- you'll love our music right down to your boot heels--even if you don't wear cowboy boots! DJ's have played our music around the world. It's pretty different from your regular "Cowgirl" fair so give us a listen and you'll see why. We're just fun and down-to-earth real!
New Mexico Sound/John Wagner Recording Studios
This is where I do all my recording. I love the guys there and they are impeccable with their production.
CD Baby
This is THE site for growing artists to be "exposed" and marketed. They are so very helpful!!
Just Imagine Gallery
This is the gallery & arts Festival in Tijeras, NM that features live music Saturdays & Sundays all day, all through the warm seasons. A very fun venue.
Albuquerque Folk Festival
This is a big annual event that has been going on for many years. Lots of stages and jam tents along with booths featuring musical instruments and accesories and arts & crafts. A very popular festival in New Mexico.
Bookworks
This is a wonderful independant bookstore in the North Valley of Albuquerque. Located on 4022 Rio Grande Blvd in Dietz Farm Plaza, they carry all the mainstream titles and showcase local and regional authors as well. They also support local musicians like myself and The Buckarettes! Bookworks has a fine array of surprising gift ideas for that hard-to-buy-for-person. A little bit of everything is what you'll find at Bookworks--just next door to The Flying Star Cafe where you can read or listen to your new find accompanied by a great cup of coffee and a luscious pastry. Take a break, check out Bookworks and your local artists and enjoy life!
Steve Smith and Hard Road
Steve is a great mondolinist and does all original material. The style is a crossbreed between Newgrass and Folk with a Classical edge. Very fresh, experimental and easy on the ears.
Luminary Health/Wendy Bodin
Wendy is a Reiki Master transplanted from wet Seattle to our very arid Albuquerque. She holds "hands on" workshops every month as well as what she calls "Reiki Shares" where everyone practices the art on each other. She is versatile with many interests. Visit her website and you'll see what I mean! And from personal experience, Reiki really does work!
Treasure House Books & Gifts
This establishment is a long-time icon on the Plaza of historical Old Town near downtown Albuquerque. Here you can find everything you wanted to know about the Cowboy and Indian cultures of our dear Southwest, including general history and fiction that is indigenous to the New Mexico region. Music plays an integral part of the ambience of the Southwest and the Treasure House is where you can unearth much of its hidden riches!
Chamisa Flower
This is a little clip taken at the Tijeras Open Air Market with Ken Hume sitting in with me. Just a cover tune called "Georgia"--you know it--just sing along!
